Anamorphic flares can help you recreate an anamorphic look at a low cost. These flares are basically light streaks created by high-end Cinema Lenses (Anamorphic Lenses). Using anamorphic light streaks by new-age filmmakers allows indie productions to level up the production value while saving huge costs of renting a set of limited anamorphic lenses available in the market.

How to use in Premiere Pro
1) Import the lens flare .mov into the project.
2) Place your lens flare video file on top of your video.
3) Click on “Effects Control” tab. Under opacity section select blending mode to “Screen”
4) You can further refine the flare intensity by adding a lumetri panel to lens flare file and playing around with highlights and shadows.
Note: Colorist Factory lens flare can be applied similarly in other video editing and compositing software.
